This course is taught by master
glass restorer, Wayne Montano, who has been in the business of professional
glass repair experience since 1981. The course is designed to teach
the basics of antique glass repair to the student. After the student
completes the 40 hour basic course, the student will return to his or
her studio to practice and become efficient in the art.
We are available by appointment
to continue, or fine tune, the techniques the student has learned. As
the student proceeds more intensive training at our shop can be included
(up to a maximum of 40 hours above the basic first 40 hours).
As new machinery, techniques, and
technology becomes available, it will be shared and taught to the student,
at no further expense. This type of business is ever changing, and there
is always something new to learn.
The course also includes advice
and help on setting up the business end of the repair service, (forms,
cards, promotional, advertising, and business locations).
The cost of equipment can vary
depending on the student¹s wants and needs from this type of business.
It could be as low as $2,000.00 and up to $10,0000 for what we use in
our business.
